This morning, Prime Minister Trudeau visited Governor General Julie Payette and requested to dissolve Parliament and issue the writs for the 43rd Canadian General Election.
Election Day will be Monday, October 21, with a campaign period of 41 days (minimum period is 36 days).
Campaign Kick-Off – Follow the Leaders
- Justin Trudeau (Liberal) – Will travel from Ottawa to Vancouver for an event in Vancouver Kingsway, British Columbia.
- Andrew Scheer (Conservative) – Launching the campaign in Trois- Rivières, Quebec and then travels to Vaughan-Woodbridge, Ontario.
- Jagmeet Singh (NDP) – Will be London, Ontario.
- Elizabeth May (Green Party) – Will be in Vancouver, Vancouver Island and the lower mainland of British Columbia.
- Maxime Bernier (People’s Party of Canada) – Event in Etobicoke North, Ontario.
